The AIS learning method uses
articles, publications, and literary texts in order to tie multiple
subjects
together. Students are exposed to interconnected subjects
throughout the course of the day. Each lesson starts by introducing
students to
the core text. Then, the class will be divided into groups of at least
two students
and asked to follow the three core steps of the AIS learning method.
- Each group will decide on a specific topic or subject
and then formulate a relevant question about the text
- Each group will develop a research and
investigation plan to answer their question
- Each group will share their newly gained
information with the class
During the learning process, educators will act as learning
coaches, guiding students
to meaningful questions that offer substantial research possibilities
as well as offering feedback on their research and its outcome.
