Even though AIS-education
envisions a
paperless classroom, we understand the limitations of this futuristic
approach. To address these limitations we designed a cross-curricular
magazine-style textbook series that fits surprisingly simple into the
current educational system. These magazines are designed to
be used
as a learning tool. Students are
encouraged to highlight important sections and the unique design allows
to jot down thoughts and
ideas.
Magazine-Style Textbooks are relevant. While it can take years for publishers to absorb current events in their textbooks, magazine-style textbooks can be produced in a very short time frame. Events, such as the 9/11 attacks, hurricane Kathrina, the 35W bridge collapse, the economic collapse of 2009, the inauguration of President Barak Obama, and countless more, occupy class discussion heavily. Magazine-style textbooks can absorb these incidents very quickly and supply teaching material to guide class discussions and offer possible answers to open questions.
